Something that is clear from starting to write notes here is that I can state an opinion and a contrary opinion and see the context of why there is a conflict there. This tension can be left to exist or can be a pointer to further thinking to resolve this.
Social media has no (usable) record of why someone holds the opinion they do, telling the difference between genuine opinion or cynically stated lies. Even if you take someones concise claim on social media as sincerely held, it is not clear or easy to work out someones [[Authority should be lent circumstantially|credentials as an authority]] on the matter, yet [[The Illusory Effect of PR]] can make this appear solid. (However [[Pointing out hypocrisy is a fruitless path]]). This makes it difficult for me to know as the reader or the writer whether an opinion has been written absent mindedly, seriously, etc. And with no context on whether this opinion is loosely or strongly held.
One thing I want from this [[Commonplace]] over the course of years, is to see the progression of thoughts develop into well sourced and considered records of my thinking on certain subjects. (Alongside [[Simple communication is more effective]])
