Reusability is key in creating design at scale. Boiling down expressions of design into the smallest possible parts (**atoms**) and building up using ONLY these into increasing levels of complexity creates the beginning of a 'surface' [[Design Systems |Design System]]. This is an example of [[Systems Thinking]]. The term *Atomic Design* term was coined by Brad Frost[^1] [[User Experience|UX]] considerations can be applied from even this lowest level, especially [[Accessibility]] in terms of Color Blindness. Atomic Design makes increasingly complex design feel like an organism of simple repeatable elements. This feels a lot more [[rational]] when used inside a living breathing Design System. This allows [[UI Design]] to exhibit [[The quality which has no name]]. #### References [^1]: [*Atomic Design* by Brad Frost](https://atomicdesign.bradfrost.com/)
